Forgeworld Newsletter - Upcoming New Releases

"Hi there,Christmas is here at last, and at Forge World, we`ve had a great holiday season and all that remains to is wish you all a happy Christmas, and tempt you with a pair of new pre-orders! These are just the first of many exciting new models we have on the way for you in the New Year, which will include new war machines, Chaos creatures and characters all bound up with the climatic conclusion to the Siege of Vraks.

Thanks
Alan Bligh

Christmas Opening TimesForge World will be closed from midday (UK time) on Wednesday the 24th of December, and remain closed on Thursday the 25th and Friday the 26th.Our phone lines will be open between 10am to 4pm on Saturday the 27th of December and we will return to our usual opening times from the 29th of December.Imperial Valdor Tank hunterFirst up is the new Imperial Valdor Tank Hunter, an ancient design based on the Malcador chassis, it is built round a powerful neutron laser weapon able to make a mockery of the strongest armoured defence. Although more common in the forces of the Adeptus Mechanicus, the arcane technology used in their construction makes these tanks revered relics within Imperial Guard armoured companies, while on Vraks they were turned to the traitor`s cause by the dark arts of Chaos. This fantastically detailed model was designed by Phil Stutcinskas, and you can see pictures of this baroque war machine HereYou can also find experimental rules for the Valdor for download HereThe Valdor is a resin model with plastic tracks and comes with all weapon options and both renegade and Imperial crew. The Valdor is available for pre-order Now for release the week commencing the 26th of January. Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Lord Hector Rex & RetinueAlso up for pre-order is Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Lord Hector Rex, first shown in teaser shots as part of our Christmas newsflashes. Rex and his retinue can be seen in their full glory HereLord Inquisitor Hector Rex plays a key role in our forthcoming Imperial Armour book for the third part of the Siege of Vraks campaignHector Rex himself has been designed by Simon Egan, while his three member retinue (comprising an Acolyte, a Mystic and a Hierophant) were designed by Mark Bedford.Inquisitor Rex and his retinue is available for pre-order Now for release the week commencing the 26th of January."

WIP Imperial Guard

I've finally got a squad of Guardsmen finished (just some small detailing and highlighting left to do + basing of course). My goal with their paint scheme is to actually have them with camoflage - kinda WW2 German style. Of course some things had to be painted the way they are as it is '40k' after all. Thus, obviously the lasguns would look silly if they appeared to have wooden stocks etc. Originally I was going to do all of them in full camo but considering how many minis are going to go into the army... so just the sergeants and officers will have full camo. The 'regulars' will have camo coats and green pants. I'm going with NMM (non-metallic metal) on the guns and ammo boxes, but for things like the flamer and some equpiment pieces I think I'm gonna stick with actual metals. Comments welcome! I'm also planning a few divisions in the army, so there will be a few squads painted in desert schemes (Afrika Korps) and an all gray (Wehrmacht). Stormtroopers (which will hopefully be all-plastic soon!) will get a full camo scheme.

The Sarge - first guardsmen fully paintedI painted his shoulder pads with some isignia - not sure if I'll add it to all the guardsmen - I need to get it smaller and sharper looking - not too happy about how it turned out on the sarge - not sure if red is the color I should use either, perhaps white... ideas welcome

Lineup up of the first squad

WIP Blood Angels

A few shots of some Blood Angels minis being worked on. I still have basically all of the Black Reach stuff to paint plus the other 4 termis with lightning claws. Once thats all done, there is still a mountain of stuff to paint to finish the army and have it ready for a huge Apocalypse game! :)

Painting Update: Duellists

Its been a while since I've posted any painting updates. Here are some WIP shots of my other unit of duellists. I decided to go with a green/white scheme for these guys. I've got one basically finished right now while the rest are in the "brown" phase.

Forgeworld Newsflash! - Cheaper Prices!

Forge World Will be Passing on UK Tax Reduction to its Customers
Recently, the UK Government has decided to reduce the rate of Value Added Tax (the UK sales tax) on all products subject to it by 2.5%, reducing it from 17.5% to 15%.

As a result Forge World will be passing on the effect of this reduction to all its customers with immediate effect, which will be represented by a reduction in our prices. All orders placed on our online store from now on will be processed and charged at these new lower rates, (except for our book products, which are not subject to VAT.)

This is great news for all our customers worldwide, because although this is a UK tax change, we have decided to apply these new lower prices to all the orders placed directly with Forge World, not just those from within the UK. This means that Forge World models are now lower in price for everyone.

You can see our new prices on our webstore, Here.

If you have any further questions or queries on this, please feel free to contact our sales and customer services team on 0115 9168177 from within the UK, or on 01144 115 9168177 from the US and Canada, or 0044 115 9168177 from Europe. Our lines are open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday UK time.

Demand is already high so get your order in soon to avoid delays and potential disappointment, and as always we will be working right up until Christmas to get as many orders as possible out to you.

Grey Knights Land Raider RedeemerOur Grey Knights Redeemer provides the Ordo Malleus with some much needed armoured support, modifying the plastic Land Raider into a Grey Knights specific Redeemer with twin-linked Psycannon and Firestorm Incinerator Cannon, each with wonderfully detailed servo-skull targeting systems and engraved litanies of purity. Designed by Will Hayes, you can see pictures of this model Here, and we are making it available to order in two ways:
Firstly a resin conversion kit for the standard Plastic Space Marine Land Raider, containing weapons sponsons, twin psycannon and assault launchers, available Here
Secondly as a complete kit, which contains the resin conversion kit, along with our Grey Knights Tank Commander model and Grey Knights Land Raider Door Set 2, as well as a complete Plastic Space Marine Land Raider Kit, and is available Here
Both of these kits are available for pre-order now, for release the week commencing the 24th of November.
Rules UpdateDon’t forget we also have available now for download a pdf rules update for Imperial Armour Volume Two: Space Marines & Forces of the Inquisition. This download revises and brings into line all the vehicles in the book with recent changes in the Space Marine Codex and the fifth addition of Warhammer 40,000, as well as introducing new rules for our Deathstorm Drop Pods.
The download is available Here.

Grey Knights Psycannon UpgradeWe are also making the twin-linked Psycannon and targeter from our Grey Knights Redeemer available separately as an upgrade set for the Space Marine Land Raider and the Space Marine Razorback plastic kit. (Note that the upper weapon mounting from either of these plastic kits is needed to fit this weapon).
This is also available for pre-order now, for release the week commencing the 24th of November.
Red Scorpions Chapter IconsAlso up for release this newsletter are some superb new chapter-specific resin icons for the Red Scorpions Space Marines. Designed by Simon Egan, you can see the contents of this pack Here, and they are perfect for adding an extra level of character and detail to your Red Scorpions vehicles from Rhinos to Drop Pods.
These Red Scorpion Chapter Icons are available for pre order now and for release the week commencing the 24th of November.

Terrain: Roads & Castle Ruins

Picked up some roads from the model train section at one of the local stores here. This will be really useful for 40K.

Also picked up a piece of ruined castle terrain. The scale is slightly smaller than Warhammer but it'll still work.

They also sell huge sets of trees here which are actually really cheap - all sizes and varieties of trees as well.

Pretty sweet conversion and anyone who has read the rules for it in Apocalypse Reload will know that this thing puts out some nasty firepower!
