Imperial Guard: Vendetta Squad

View Comments
Hello all, Slick here. Today I have my finished Vendettas to share. These two complete my 'air force' for the Guard (for now) :)

The conversion kits were simple, easy to assemble and look the part. These two have already accounted for scores of dead Chaos marine vehicles :)

Eventually, I will need to put some detail work on the bases, for now I decided to just leave them plain.

The next addition for air-power to my Guard army will likely be a Thunderbolt for Apocalypse games.

Comments welcome!

From the Forge: Imperial Guard - Armored Car Complete

View Comments
Hello all, Slick here. Here is the complete armored car that I showed WIP pics of a while ago! As you can see, there have been significant additions to the vehicle and a wide variety of bits have been used to bring it all together. I do still want to add another set of wheels to the car to make it a 6-wheeler but that will have to wait a while as it means buying another two space marine bikes. The car has been primed and I should be able to start painting soon. Comments welcome!

From the Forge: Imperial Guard Armored Car Conversion

View Comments
Hello all, Slick here. New STC discovered on Regalius IV! Read on for more information...

Today I would like to share a little project I've been working on - making an armored car for my Imperial Guard! Why? Aside from the new Forgeworld Tauros there really are no wheeled vehicles in 40K unless you count Space Marine bikes. Having recently gotten into Flames of War I have become a fan of the various scout and recon vehicles for the armies in that game. I'm roughly modeling this after a mix between Puma and a Greyhound armored cars. After rummaging around in the bits box I settled on a spare Leman Russ hull top as the base for the model. From there it was off to the forge to see if I could turn it into a worthy vehicle. This is the state of the vehicle after about 3 hours of work. I decided this armored car would pack a bit of anti-infantry punch and put a spare punisher cannon in the hull. Imagine this thing camouflaged and suddenly opening up with this beast of a Gatling gun! This thing is also going to have quite a bit of communications equipment to represent it spying on enemy communications and relaying it back to friendly forces. The next major step will be to add the wheels and work on detailng the hull sides and adding various little bits here and there. Once it's finished I will write up a Datasheet for it for use in Apocalypse. Check back soon for a finished product. Comments welcome!

Imperial Guard: Valkyrie

View Comments
Hey all, time for an Imperial Guard update. I finally managed to get the Valkyrie to near complete status. It's been a blast to paint this thing and I may have to eventually get a few more to make a squadron. This kit is definitely large and fun to build. I didn't glue the wings on as they hold in place just fine (good kit design!) which means transportation becomes a little easier as it takes up a much smaller footprint in my carrying case. What's left to do? Well I have to finish both the chin guns for it. Also it'll need to be highlighted and I want to add several more details like unit and kill markings. Comments welcome!

News: IG 1.5 Wave tanks available for Preorder!

Hey all, up on GW's UK site are a few new preorders - namely the 1.5 wave IG stuff. You have the new all plastic Hellhound and Leman Russ Demolisher boxes, each of which allows you to make one of 3 variants and contains all the bits necessary for all types of weapon options. The Hellhound kit is certainly looking cool, especially the beefier turret (might come in handy on some Chimera conversions) and the new side panels are looking good too. The LRD is also pretty sweet - the new lower profile and elongated turret looks good. The plasma cannon for the Executioner variant doesn't look quite as good as the FW version and the Punisher cannon is a bit meh. Still, having all 3 in one kit is definitely a plus. What do you guys think?

Definitely nice to see the next wave of IG stuff coming out. Keep in mind the entire IG release is supposed to spread out over 18 months so there is still plenty to come including an artillery box set that supposedly lets you make the Basilisk, Medusa, Bombard, and possibly even the Griffon. That's a lot in one box if it's true! Also, anyone notice what looks like giant fortresses landing in the background art of these boxes? Possibly a future Planetstrike release...

Update: Imperial Guard Sentinel

Hey all, it's been a little while since I've had some new minis to show (busy preparing for Apocalypse). First up is an Sentinel for the Imperial Guard. I decided to go with a desert scheme with this one. There are still some parts needed to be touched up but overall it's ready to go. This thing actually broke into several pieces before I started painting it and had to be pinned on one ankle and both hip joints. I'll have to get a few more sentinels eventually to start fielding them properly. Comments welcome!

Blood Angels: Land Speeder Tornado

Hi all, time for some more Blood Angels goodness, this time it's a Land Speeder Tornado. I'm pretty excited to finally have this one finished as it's been sitting in my collection for like 4-5 years with nothing but primer on it. I took the time to paint the crew before gluing them in on this one and it definitely looks a lot better than my much older standard Land Speeder. Seems like I've been working on a lot of Fast Attack stuff lately. Being Blood Angels, there is nothing wrong with that :)

Next up will be pics of one of the coolest units out there (hint: they're mostly black and with some red, and are crazed berserkers :) )

For now though here are some pics of the Tornado (comments welcome!):

Blood Angels: Land Speeder

Another small update for the Blood Angels, this time a Land Speeder. This along with the Death Company Rhino are proabably two of the oldest pieces in the army, both originally being White Scars before I saw the awesomeness that are the Blood Angels and converted. This thing needs a lot more work put into it but it's definitely getting there from what it was. Definitely a lesson learned from assembling and painting this thing: paint the crew separately and then glue them in. Look for some updated pics of the finished speeder sometime soon. Comments welcome!
