We feel we have neglected our first army! Just 18 months ago the Elves took to the battlefield alone - and fought on until the arrival of the Undead some 4 months later.Since then the Dwarfs and Undead battled it out in 'Mhorgoths Revenge' and we have released three armies!

Well enough - it is the time of the Elves is once more!

Since the release of the other army sets, we have been regularly asked – where is the Elf Army set, and can we have Bowmen without shields.

Well, we listened and here they are - Elf Army Set and Elf Archers, and they will start shipping on the 14th March. These are just two new releases we have planned for the Elves over the coming months, we have something special coming in the near future, and we'll revisit the Elf concepts and art, to see where all this began.....

The Elf Army Set is a fantastic addition to our Battle Set Range. It contains: 20 Spearmen, 20 Bowmen, Elf Seaguard, 10 Scout and 2 Bolt Throwers all in plastic, as well as free Kings of War rules and an exclusive metal Wizard on Horse. As if that wasn't enough, for the first print run only, we’re also bundling in an additional 10 Elf Spearmen absolutely free!

As mentioned there is a wizard on horse exclusive to this set, which has been sculpted especially for this occasion after you guys asked for the Army Set. Sculpted by Bob Naismith, and painted by the guys at Golem Painting Studio, check it out below:

News: GW Newsletter - Ulthuan Marshalls for War!

Hello all, Slick here. The new High Elf releases are up for advance order! For the first time ever we will have plastic Phoenix Guard and White Lions! This will be a nice update as the metal units were quite pricey (as long as GW doesn't pull a Goldswords move here). The new Dragon Princes are also a welcome addition to the range. Last but not least, the Mega Paint set is being relaunched and includes the washes and foundation paints. A good time to be playing High Elves!

Advance Order: High Elves & The Mega Paint Set The High Elves are one of the oldest races in Warhammer and they are masters of all aspects of warfare. To command a force of High Elves is to lead an army of elite warriors and powerful spellcasters. High Elf units have the speed to pick when and where they will meet the foe, and blessed with the Speed of Asuryan (all High Elves have the Always Strike First special rule) they can strike them down before they have the chance to draw Elven blood. Even the Core warriors of a High Elf army have the stat line and abilities that far exceed the warriors of other races, while their specialist units are the equal of the heroes of lesser races. New to advance order today are three such powerful units: the Dragon Princes, Phoenix Guard and White Lions.

Dragon Princes The Dragon Princes are the finest cavalry in all of Ulthuan. Clad in ornate dragon armour they are immune to fire and all but the most powerful of blows. Lead your charge with a unit of these elite Elven knights.

Phoenix Guard The Phoenix Guard are infused with the raw power of Asuryan and benefit from a 4+ ward save, and are the ideal unit to build your battleline around. Now available as a multi-part plastic set, it's never been easier to add a unique regiment of these eternal warriors to your High Elf army.

White Lions The Woodsmen of Chrace are the strongest of all the High Elves, as capable of felling a monstrous foe as a towering oak. The lion pelts worn by the White Lions, protect them from missile fire and allows them to advance unmolested into striking distance of their mighty axes.

Become a lord of Ulthuan There's no better excuse to start a new army than the arrival of some new miniatures, which makes now the perfect time to collect a glittering host of Ulthuan! A High Elf army rewards clever generalship and although your warriors are far superior to your foes, they'll be outnumbered and you'll have to use their talents wisely to ensure victory. That being said, you've access to: a host of warriors with multiple attacks; cheap magic items; powerful mages, which are even more obscene if tooled up with said magic items; and of course Star Dragons, which eat Greater Daemons for breakfast.

To start your High Elf warhost, you'll need a copy of Warhammer Armies: High Elves, it contains all of the rules and information you'll need, and you can't lead your army to war without it. The High Elf Battalion is a great next purchase; it's packed with miniatures and offers a saving over buying the contents individually. With those you'll have the makings of a small force, and you can get on to adding in more specialist troops - one of the best thing about gaming with High Elves is the number of Special choices you have to choose from. White Lions and Lion Chariots will add some punch to your army (Elves from Chrace are stronger and hardier than other Elves), while Repeater Bolt Throwers and their impressive firepower are simply a must have. That just leaves you with a General to find. Being an ancient race, the High Elves have long held an alliance with dragons and can field more of them than any other army. You can mount a Prince or a Mage on a dragon depending on your preference but whichever option you choose, you can rest assured your General and their dragon will be the single most powerful addition to your army.

It contains all 73 paints in the Citadel Colour, Foundation and Wash ranges, brushes, glue, flock and sand, packed in a custom case. Hello all, Slick here. The latest GW newsletter is out and it's all about the Island of Blood starter set which is AVAILABLE NOW! This is definitely the best Warhammer Fantasy starter ever! They have really surpassed themselves with the quality of the miniatures and everyone will appreciate having the small-format rulebook to use. If there is one thing to gripe about, it is the fact that the price of the starter sets has risen so drastically. The entry cost into the game is that much more expensive now, as you will of course want to get your army's armybook, paints, measure devices, etc.

The Island of Blood Attention everybody: the new Warhammer boxed game is due for imminent release (on the 4th of September to be exact), it's called The Island of Blood, and is packed with 74 brand-new Citadel miniatures and everything else you need to play Warhammer. But you knew that already, right? What you might not know is just how much excitement it's generated across the hobby world (like the regular world but where painting and modelling are akin to bread and butter and the only currency is victory points). Since we announced The Island of Blood we've been sent hundreds of emails, and received word of thousands of armies being readied and of battles being fought. This in turn has prompted us to create a host of content looking at every aspect of the set. So, in case you've missed any of it, here's a round up of the best bits, and another look at the stunning The Island of Blood set itself.

Order your copy here. There are two armies in The Island of Blood - a Skaven force and a High Elf force. The Skaven are a horde army that rely on weight of numbers to win the day, while the High Elves are elite warriors that achieve victory through surgical application of force and skill at arms. So whichever style of play you favour there's something for you in the set. Many of the miniatures in The Island of Blood are exclusives - there's no other way to get your hands on them. Incoming: High Elves This October is devoted to the scions of Asuryan, as we release a series of new High Elf miniatures.

The High Elves are the noblest of races, the remnant of a once-mighty civilisation that spanned the globe. The titanic destruction unleashed by the Daemons of Chaos and the monstrous betrayal of the Dark Elves left their nation a shadow of its former might and glory, and yet the High Elves fight on. For millennia they have stood sentinel against the depredations of Chaos, thwarting the machinations of the Dark Gods over and again, and though their population has dwindled, the skill and determination of their armies remains steadfast. In battle, the armies of the High Elves are a glorious sight to behold. Ranks of elite soldiers clad in unspotted white and glittering silver stand against the dark tide of the Forces of Destruction. With a mystical grace and agility that is incomparable to the lumpen, slothful gestures of lesser mortals, they cleave through the foe with spear and blade - their skill and speed a match for any foe. Volleys of white-fletched arrows are sent slashing into the foe, accompanied by the heavier, deadlier shots of the Eagle Claw Bolt Throwers, which can punch through even the thickest armour. Powerful High Elf Mages direct the ebb and flow of the Winds of Magic to smite the foe with incandescent flames, or protect their allies with the dazzling power of Asuryan, the king of the Elven gods. Incoming: Misty Mountains Khazad-dûm, nestled below the mighty peaks of the Misty Mountains was once the greatest of all Dwarven holds - a place of beauty, light and artisanship unequalled. Now, however, it is the haunt of Moria Goblins, lumbering Cave Trolls and other, more terrible creatures. For generations the Dwarves have longed to reclaim their ancestral home, fighting long and bitter wars against the Goblins who have usurped their cherished kingdom beneath the mountains. This October the battle for dominion is set to intensify as both the armies of the Dwarf Holds and the Misty Mountains receive new reinforcements.
