Dark Elves Update Again

Well I've got my first game with the Druchi this weekend. Taking on dwarfs. Currently with everything fully kitted out I can pull around 1850 points but I had to take that back down to 1750 for the upcoming game. It'll be interesting to field the DE without any RBTs but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how well hatred works and especially the assassins!

Dark Elves Update

Got through about half of the battleforce today - Its taking a lot longer since I had the brilliant idea of doing scenic bases for everything !

Should be finished tomorrow!

Dark Elves Update

Picked up a Dreadlord on Cold One today, and also the new DE Battleforce for $25 thanks to points :D

Also picked up a couple of replacement paints.

With all the stuff I have now I should be able to easily do 750pts or more. Still need to get an Assassin or two hehee

Starting Dark Elves

So after getting the Dark Elves book and reading it several times I decided to start up an army of them. The new rules & minis just make it too tempting and its nice to have one of the new upper tier armies as it will become increasingly difficult to be viable with DOW since GW keeps jacking up the power levels with each new army released. I'm keeping the Tomb Kings on the sideline until they get their update which will hopefully make them a powerhouse again (not that they're really weak now but...)

I picked up a unit of Cold One Knights for my first purchase and I must say this box is stunning! - 5 guys for $22 which comes out to roughly 200pts in the game - a fantastic deal considering it used to be $45 for 5 of the old ones!

The minis are amazing and such an improvement over previous incarnations! More to come later!

New Dark Elves are out!

Well, all of the new Dark Elf stuff has been released and I must say I'm really impressed!

I've read through the book once and the DE have definitely gotten a major upgrade from 6th edition. Several things have changed and they are now quite deadly in all phases of the game. One immediate change I noticed are the way the DE Assassins play - they have numerous upgrades and equipment options available to them now so that they can be tooled for character or monster killing, troop killing, and/or war machine hunting.
