Flames of War: Tiger 1E

View Comments
Hey all, time for something completely new. As a break from Warhammer & 40K we're trying out Flames of War. I decided to go with Germans (tanks tanks and more tanks!). Thus far it has been really fun and there are definitely a lot of positives to Battlefront's Miniatures game. I'll detail some thoughts on the game/company in another post. For now, here is a mostly finished Tiger I which will hopefully be demolishing Shermans soon. Comments welcome!

Blood Angels: Scout

View Comments
Hey all, time for a Blood Angels update since it's been a while. Here are some pics of a scout test model. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the way he turned out. A nice break from just solid red armor hehe. I'll be getting to the other dozen or so scouts that remain soon. Comments welcome!

Update: Punisher Cannons

View Comments
Hey all, another quick update for the Vulture. I've got the wings (sans tail boom) assembled along with the punisher cannons. This is going to be wicked once it's all painted up.

Update: Vulture Assembly

View Comments
Hey all, just a quick update. I've been making some progress with the Vulture assembly although it's stalled because FW didn't ship the tail boom pieces so this will be about as far as it gets assembled until that arrives.

Hey all, just a little financial news tidbit regarding GW (for those who own GW stock or might consider investing), check out the following article.

News: Incoming! Legion of the Damned

View Comments
Hey all, another GW Newsletter arrives, this time with some news from GD Italy: New Legion of
the Damned!

Issue 65 The Games Workshop Newsletter 18.10.2009
In this issue: Incoming! Legion of the Damned

Incoming! Legion of the Damned

Today at Games Day Italy we unveiled the all-new metal Legion of The Damned models.

The Legion of The Damned are Spaces Marines in appearance. Their black armour is adorned with chilling images of bone and fire, and an eerie glow suffuses their sable armour and a halo of ghostly fire dances about their feet. Considered by some to be an extension of the Emperor’s superhuman will and by others as the vengeful and immortal spirits of fallen Space Marines, Damned Legionnaires fight with a chill precision few mortal warriors can match.

Out in January, the Legion of The Damned are an Elite Space Marine unit who can always Deep Strike and can even opt to re-roll the deep strike scatter dice. Also, their 3+ saving throw is invulnerable.

Apparently there will be something like 10-15 different LotD models. In either case this one certainly looks cool and it might be fun to try them out in a few games. What do you guys think?

Advance Order: Skaven Screaming Bell/Plague Furnace

Of all the diabolical wonder weapons of the Skaven, none are as notorious as the Screaming Bell and Plague Furnace. The Screaming Bell is an unholy altar from which a Grey Seers can preach his plans of total domination, while the Plague Furnace is a disease-ridden monument to the Great Horned Rat and an unholy pulpit for a Plague Priest.

This all-new multi-part plastic kit allows you to assemble either a Screaming Bell or a Plague Furnace, and is packed with additional components that you can use to further personalise your model.

Advance order yours here.

News: Forgeworld Newsletter #222

View Comments
Hey all, time for the latest FW Newsletter. There isn't too much new stuff here aside from the availability of the awesome Chaos Reaver Titan and Games Day UK coverage.

"Hi There,

This is our first newsletter back after Games Day UK and wed like to say a big thanks to everyone who came to what was our busiest Games Day ever. You can also have a look at what went on at this great event on our special Gallery page. But without further ado on to the newsletter!

Thanks
Alan Bligh

Chaos Reaver Titan
First seen in the flesh at Games Day UK, the Chaos Reaver Titan is available now to pre-order for release the week commencing the 2nd of November. This monstrous war machine is a corrupted version of the Imperial Reaver Titan. This huge kit stands approximately 400mm/16 inches high and has been designed by Will Hayes and Simon Egan.

This model as you can see from the pictures Here has been lavishly detailed with the marks of Chaos and mechanical corruption both on its external surfaces and internal compartments, which include bladed armour, the Eye of Chaos on its upper carapace and three damned crew fused with its twisted structure.

You can also see the fantastic painted version of the model by Phil Stutcinskas that we first showed at Games Day UK Here.

The Chaos Reaver Titan makes for a great modelling and painting project for any hobbyist and a devastatingly powerful unit for your games of Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse.

Rules for the Chaos Reaver Titan can be found in Imperial Armour Seven, the Siege of Vraks part 3 and the forthcoming Imperial Armour Apocalypse II.

As with our Imperial Reaver Titan, the Chaos Reaver Titan is available as a separate Main Body and Weapons. The main body also comes with a sprue of large Chaos symbols allowing you to convert and use any of the Imperial Reaver Titan Weapons to traitor service (as all the Imperial Reaver Weapons will also fit this Chaos version allowing you to customise your models armament as you wish).

We also have two new Chaos weapons for the Titan available as well; the brutal and predatory firepower of Chaos Apocalypse Launcher and the wickedly barbed Chaos Reaver Power Claw, both of which are available to pre-order now for release the week commencing the 2nd of November.

News: FW Order 4

View Comments
Hey all, the last little bit of the Forgeworld order is an upgrade for the Vulture - 2 Punisher Cannons. The Vulture will now dish out Heavy 40 shots at S5. There is also the hull heavy bolter for another 3 shots, just in case :)

News: FW Order 3

View Comments
Hey all, another part of the FW order was this Vulture. The Vulture is a gunship variant of the Valkyrie and lacks transport capacity but gains much more in the way of armament. This one is going to be a blast to put together. That main engine block is massive and weighs quite a bit. Hopefully the flying stand will be able to handle it.

News: FW Order Part 2

View Comments
Hey all, here is another piece I ordered. This will be part of an ongoing project. Any guesses as to what that goes to? :)

Reinforcements: FW Order Arrives :)

View Comments
Hey all, I put in a Forgeworld order a while back and just got the shipment today. This was not a massive order like the previous one, but there is some good stuff nonetheless. First up, I ordered the set of weathering powders that FW recently released. This is going to allow me to go back to all my tanks and add quite a bit of detail. It's a set of 6 powders and well worth getting.

'Ard Boyz Tournaments are a three-part, competitive series of events hosted by Independent Retailers across North America. These tournaments are the place to field that nasty list you felt guilty about playing, or that massive horde army you couldn't hope to paint it in time.
